    Published on:

While flying from Jaipur to Hyderabad ,Air Asia India flight no. (I5) 1543 pilots noticed a fuel leak and for safety they shut down an engine. The crew of the flight informed the Hyderabad tower for an emergency landing at the planned destination itself. The emergency landing was declared for safety on ground too.Air Asia said the pilots handled this very professionally and this incident is being investigated by India’s aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Has this happened to other planes before?

Yes,single engine landing has occurred on other planes before.Fuel leaks can be threatening on a flights but planes can withstand flying on one engine too.Pilots are trained for this extensively too.Hence this did not decrease air Asia’s reputation.

There were no injuries and the plane was landing safely.Thr aircraft will be inspected by a team too for safety before the A320 (VT-IXC) will take on the skies again.
