UAE based carrier Emirates has announced plans to launch direct flights connecting the United Arab Emirates with Israel. There is scarce detail available on the planned flights, apart from that they will start in January 2021 and will operate into Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport. The flights are subject to government approval and have not been confirmed by Emirates. They will need permission to cross Saudi Arabian airspace, something which has only opened up recently. This marks a symbol of goodwill between the 2 nations and a hope for peace between them. This is also a massive opportunity for Emirate’s to capitalize on this route like El al Israel airlines.
This is important because a new era, a new route opens up helping The Israelis to travel in Dubai. When asked for a comment on this emirates says -“The operation of any route requires air traffic rights and government approvals. Once those are in place, Emirates will review market demand and a range of operation factors before making any decision to start flight services. With regards to new destinations, we have nothing further to announce at this time.”
Seems like a good part on Saudi Arabia’s claim to open up airspace for El Al Israel Airlines flights. This is a preamble to the peace which the region can achieve. Thanks for reading the blog
